Business/Professional History:
For over 40 years, I have been an entrepreneur in business, building a janitorial business; a restaurant and a consulting firm. I consulted and lobbied both the Provincial and Federal Governments on behalf of a Pulp and Paper Company; the Northern First Nations, and other businesses in N.W.O. During this time, I was also a Case Consultant for the Federal Business Development Bank of Thunder Bay.
Public and Community Service:
I have been a member of the Jaycees, Rotary Club, and D.D. Chamber of Commerce
Served several years on the Dryden Police Service Board
3 time president of the D. D. Chamber of Commerce
Served 2 terms on Dryden Town Council
Served on Dryden District Hospital Board
Coordinator for the Youth Trust of Ontario
Volunteer fund raising chairman for the Dryden Arena, Dryden Swimming Pool, and the Dryden Seniors Activity Complex
Awards & Honourary memberships:
Received the Ontario Bicentennial Medal
Kinsmen “Sportsman of the Year” award
Dryden High School Teacher’s “Excellence in Education” award
Honourary member of the Dryden Kinsmen Club
Honourary and lifetime member of Dryden District Chamber of Commerce
Personal Background:
Born and raised in Thunder Bay, the youngest of 3 boys. Moved to Dryden in 1959, and married Lesley in 1961. We have a son, Tom, daughter, Lisa and 5 cute grandchildren.
Interests:
Fun with the grandkids, online games, joking with friends and fishing, when there is time.
