The K.P. Best Start Program can accommodate up to twenty preschoolers and/or toddlers. This program is located in an addition to New Prospect School funded by the Province's Best Start initiative. It serves families who live in the area or have children attending New Prospect School. The centre is open from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 or 6:00 p.m. (if warranted by the demand for service) Monday to Friday, twelve months of the year. Inquire about operating hours at the time of registration.
Space is shared with the Dryden Nursery School. This program is operated by a parent co-op and is also licensed under the Day Nursery Act. Two hour programs are offered two or three days a week mornings or afternoons. For more information call 223-2433.
The After School Program can accommodate 22 kindergarten and 30 school age children for before and after school programming during the school year. The centre opens at 7:30 a.m. and operates until school starts and resumes operations at the end of the school day between 5:30 or 6:00 p.m. (if warranted by demand for the service). Limited spaces may be available for full day programming through the Best Start Program on school holidays. Inquire about operating hours at the time of registration.
Our K.P site is made up of one Site Supervising Early Interventionist, six Early Childhood Educators and ECE Assistants. Meals and snacks are provided by the Cooks at the Dryden Child Care Program. Support to the program is provided by the Manager of Children’s Services, Supervising Early Interventionist and Secretary/Receptionist from our main site at the Children’s Resource Centre.
Please use designated parking spaces for drop off and pick up at New Prospect School. All children must be escorted into the classroom by an adult.
