Parks and Beaches
With plenty of open spaces and lake access, there is the perfect beach or park conveniently located with the activities you are looking for.   From children's parks to quiet outdoor spaces there is something for everyone.

Day passes are also available to access the beautiful beaches, playground equipment and other amenities at our local Provincial Parks located just on the edges of Dryden and Vermilion Bay.

Sandy Beach Recreational Area
Sandy Beach Recreational Area

Located within City limits, Sandy Beach Recreational area is a great way to spend a few hours or the day enjoying the sun and sand.  Full amenities: washrooms, playground equipment areas, BBQ pits, and picnic tables under a covered pavillion.   Coveniently connected to the beach area, beautiful nature trails, close to Flatrock fishing area, 9 hole golf course, ball diamonds, and soccer pitches.    Having an event?

Johnston's Public Beach
Located on Thunder Lake outside City limits, this public beach is another great way to spend the day in the water with family and friends.   It takes approximately 20 minutes to travel to this destination.  Be sure to bring your towel and sunscreen!

Ghost Lake Public Beach
Located on Ghost Lake outside City limits, this beach is great for the family with shallow sandy beach area, boat launch and plenty of shade.  Great areas to take your canoe, kayak or paddle boat.   Bring your picnic basket and blanket and put your feet in the sand.

Kinsmen Park
Full of mature trees, playground equipment and conveniently located close to downtown within City limits this park is the perfect place to bring the kids for a great day of fun and laughter.   Fully equipped with washrooms, water fountain, playground eqipment, picnic tables and fully fenced with shrubs and barriers for a private play area located on Van Horne Avenue

Johnston's Park
The perfect location to stop for a rest, enjoy your lunch, take in the view of the Mosaic Structure in the park, take a stroll down the path to the suspension bridge or just relax and enjoy the sun and trees.   Conveniently located along highway 17 just west of the turn off to go downtown Dryden - watch for the signs for the Roy Wilson Suspension Bridge.

Pronger Park
Having a family gathering?  Pronger Park is the perfect location with a parking area on Dingwall Parkway, and park access from Eagle and Thunder Drive.  Spend the day in this beautifully treed private park, fully equipped with washrooms, picnic areas, playground equipment and easy access to biking and hiking trails.   This pet friendly area has lots of room for a run with your dog, please be sure to use the waste receptials when you leave.
